Physique Gym is proud to offer a varied range of group fitness classes throughout the week and even weekends. We are pleased to have the most experienced and versatile group fitness instructors in the area and group fitness classes provide social interaction between members which in turn increases compliance with an exercise program.

Push yourself past your limits with cardio and plyometric drills with intervals of strength and power resistance. This class will get you results we will take before and after measurements on the body and your fitness levels. Put your body to the test and see what you are made of.

Meta Fit

Metafit is a 30-minute, bodyweight-only, non-choreographed, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workout that sets the metabolism on fire! The program was created over a decade ago in the UK by a Royal Marine Commando in a bid to make HIIT more efficient and effective.

Legs, Bums & Tums

Legs, bums, and Tums…the worst parts of your body when it comes to shifting fat. But don’t worry, help is at hand – legs, bums and tums fitness classes are a fun filled way to help tone up those wobbly bits you love to hate.

 

The class is a full body aerobic workout that aims to tone up those flabby areas of your thighs, bum and stomach – great for those who want to lose weight or who simply want to increase their fitness levels with a motivated group of people.

 

The classes start with a warm up to get your body moving, so you may jog on the spot, do some arm swings, or shoulder rolls – just some general stretches to loosen those limbs.

 

Next up will be three sections – or your instructor may mix it up a bit. Well, variety is the spice of life, right?

 

Crunches for the tum

Yes, you will have to get on the floor and do those tough crunches to give your abs a workout. The aim is to repeat the exercises as much as possible, building up how long you can do it each time- and getting fitter in the process. Who knows, you might have that washboard tum in no time…

 

Legs workout

Your legs will get a workout through lunges, step aerobics and all sorts of simple moves whether you’re standing or air-cycling on the floor. All to an upbeat soundtrack to keep you going.

 

Squats – for the bum

Most classes will incorporate the wonderful squat exercise – great for building strength and toning up your thighs and bottom. The lower you go, the higher your bottom will be… or so they say.

 

Finally, after the exercises you must have a cool down as this will slow your blood flow back to normal after all the hectic exercising you have been doing. Be sure to have a good stretch too or else you’ll be wanting to take the lift instead of the stairs the next time.

Spin

Expect a high energy, fast paced group cycle workout burning on average between 400-600 calories.

 

Your instructor will keep you engaged with a mix of seated and standing work, hill climbs, sprints and flat riding while mixing up the pace and intensity.

 

The intense interval training that a spin class provides will increase your fitness, leg strength and muscle endurance.

 

Spinning instructors are always highly enthusiastic and will motivate you to push for that extra calorie burn. If you’ve not been to spinning before, make sure you bring a full bottle of water, a sweat towel and of course plenty of energy!

20/20/20

The 20/20/20 class is designed to give you the ultimate challenge and total body workout.

 

By breaking the class into sections compromising of 20 minutes of cardio, 20 minutes of strength training and 20 minutes focusing on core strength – it’s a real favourite amongst members!

 

The class aims to push you to your personal limits whilst providing lower intensity options for those who require them. The variety of the workout means there’s a section that everyone enjoys and even exercises that you might not otherwise get chance to try out.

Bootcamp

Boot Camp is a great weight and fat loss class designed to exercise your whole body at once. If you are wanting to cut weight and tone up, especially around your waist and tummy this is the perfect class for you!  If you’re looking for maximum ab definition, there are a few key exercises that you should include in your workouts. These are all included in the Boot Camp group fitness class.

 

After you’ve figured out a nutritional approach for lowering your body fat, your next step will be to add this group exercise class for maximum ab definition. These exercises which will tighten the actual muscle fibres, ensure that they take an attractive shape and help to reach maximum ab definition.

Yoga

Our yoga classes include a variety of different yoga practices such as Ashtanga, Vinyasa flow, Anusara among others.

 

Dependant on the class, we will modify the practice to accommodate for the different levels and be thorough in our explanations so the class can fully experience from the wonderful benefits yoga has to offer.

 

At the end of each class we do some breath work into a mediation so that when you leave the class you are left feeling energised and rejuvenated ready for the week ahead.
